If you edit illustrated books you need a range of extra skills to supplement those taught on the popular Copy-Editing Skills course.

Anyone who is involved in the development of published materials that include illustrations. This will include Editorial Assistants, Copy-editors, Desk Editors, Proofreaders, Development Editors and Commissioning Editors.
Your tutor
Sonia Clark has worked in editorial teams for several major UK and international educational publishers. In 2003 she started working as a freelancer. She now works as a freelance publishing trainer, copy-editor, proofreader, project manager and publisher. Sonia has experience of editing and publishing illustrated books, CD-ROMs and online materials on a variety of subjects at primary, secondary and tertiary level. She has run author workshops in the UK, Africa and the Caribbean and as a qualified teacher she has taught in schools and colleges in Hampshire at secondary and tertiary level.
Note that most of our open courses can also be run as in-company events.
